About this event
LAHouseConcerts welcomes you to a heart-centered evening of live music and delicious food in celebration and support of Miry’s List, a Los-Angeles based NGO that provides essential support to more than 1500 refugees settling in the United States from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Yemen.
Our event aims to feed your soul with the universal languages of food and music. We will begin with an nourishing dinner experience, featuring vegetarian Syrian cuisine beautifully prepared by a refugee family from the Miry’s List community.
Under the open night sky, our evening will continue with a soulful live concert exploring the journey of the Silk Road through Arabic, Kurdish and Indian musical traditions. We will feature an internationally acclaimed mix of artists (Listen here on Spotify):
- Adam Maalouf is a Lebanese-American handpan composer
- Born in Lebanon, Paul Livingstone is a classical Indian sitarist
- Ava Nahas is an Egyptian-Lebanese percussionist
- Dlan Dary is a blind Kurdish multi-instrumentalist who settled in California 5 years ago with support from Miry’s List
Throughout the event, you’ll learn about Miry’s List’s impact and hear first-hand stories from their community. In addition to the dinner experience, we will serve a generous spread of appetizers, desserts and wine during the concert.
This event will take place fully outdoors in a stunning Altadena residence. We require guests to be fully vaccinated. Ample free street parking is available.
