A Message from Imam Michael Abdul Hakim
Assalaamu ‘Alaikum Dear Believers,
Confirmed cases of the highly contageous COVID19 virus are multiplying exponentially across the US and the world. Governor Ralph Northam has announced a state of emergency for the State of Virginia.
As the Imam of Masjid Bilal, we will say to you as was told to the people of Prophet Moses, PBUH, in the holy Qur’an. “We revealed to Moses and his brother: Take for your people houses to abide in Egypt and make your houses places of worship and keep up prayer. And give good news to the believers.” (10:18)
Nationally governmental leadership has directed groups to avoid congregating in large numbers, ten or less in order to reduce the spread of this highly contageous virus.
Given this mandate, we say to you “Take your homes as a place of worship.”
We will update you weekly via this portal once these restrictions have been lifted. Tentatively we are projecting these restrictions to remain in place thru January 2021 .
Allah knows best and He knows what’s happening now.May
Insha Allah I will be at the masjid in the event that believers arrive for Jumah who may not have gotten this message. Please keep us in your prayers.

MASJID BILAL IS OPEN FOR SALATUL JUMAH PRAYER FOLLOWING STRICT COVID 19 GUIDELINES FOR MEN AND WOMEN. IF YOU ARE ILL OR HAVE BEEN AROUND ANYONE SICK OR INFECTED YOU MUST REMAIN IN QUARANTINE AT HOME.
