About this event
Despite ongoing violence and persecution against Palestinians, contemporary media coverage of Palestine is widely skewed, painting them in a discriminatory light while overlooking the atrocities committed by the Israeli military. In a recent report, the United Nations identified Israel’s strategic approach to mask the invasion of Palestinian territory as a religious issue between Muslims/Arabs and Jews instead of a violation of human rights. Since the media plays an essential role in forming public opinion, it is important to examine the mechanisms guiding this unequal representation. This event will feature a panel of prominent Palestinian academics, journalists, and activists and will touch on issues of misinformation, bias, and underrepresentation.
The Zoom link will be sent out to registered participants on the day of the event.
