DESCRIPTION:PLYMOUTH\, MA\n\n\n\n\nFrom Ground Zero is a compelling project
  that brings together 22 short films created by talented filmmakers from G
 aza. Launched by Rashid Masharawi\, a renowned Palestinian filmmaker\, the
  initiative was born against the backdrop of conflict and aims to provide 
 a platform for young artists to express themselves through their craft. Ea
 ch film\, ranging in length from 3 to 6 minutes\, presents a unique perspe
 ctive on the current reality in Gaza. The project captures the diverse exp
 eriences of life in the Palestinian enclave\, including the challenges\, t
 ragedies and moments of resilience faced by its people. Using a mix of gen
 res including fiction\, documentary\, docu-fiction\, animation and experim
 ental cinema\, From Ground Zero presents a rich diversity of stories that 
 reflect the sorrow\, joy and hope inherent in Gazan life. Despite the hars
 h filming conditions\, Gaza's vibrant artistic scene shines through this c
 ollection\, offering an intimate and powerful portrait of daily life and t
 he enduring spirit of its people.\n\n\n\n\n\nInspired by the courage and r
 esilience of indigenous people from Plymouth Rock to Palestine\, we have b
 een protesting the genocide in Gaza every Saturday at noon since March 202
 4. In season\, find us at Plymouth Rock (where our own indigenous genocide
  began)\, and off-season\, we'll be at Town Hall. Bring flags\, signs\, ki
 tes\, pots and pans\, and whatever else. The momentum is building for a FR
 EE PALESTINE where everyone enjoys equal rights: Jews\, Muslims\, Christia
 ns\, and Just People.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoing homework among the 
 wreckage. By October of 2024 (last year!)\, the Israeli air force dropped 
 70\,000 tons of bombs on the Gaza Strip\, surpassing the combined bomb ton
 nage dropped on Dresden\, Hamburg\, and London during WW2 (Wikipedia). Thi
 s is on a land eleven times smaller than Rhode Island\, holding two millio
 n people in what Bernie Sanders\, former British MP David Cameron\, and UN
  Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese have called "an open-air prison."\n
