Holy Transfiguration Church will host its 26th annual Middle Eastern Food Festival Aug 31 & Sept 1. The Festival will feature authentic Middle Eastern food, pastries, music & dancing, as well as vendors, church tours, and activities for both children and adults. Admission is free. We look forward to welcoming you on Labor Day weekend!
Join in the fun from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, and 12 noon – 6 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 1. Smell the aromas from the outdoor grills, partake of Shawarma, Chicken Kebabs, Falafel, Fattoush, Hummus, and Stuffed Grape Leaves, or any number of other delicious menu choices, including a Roast Lamb Dinner served on Saturday from 6:00-9:00 and all day on Sunday. Then relax with a cup of coffee and mouth-watering pastry. Choose from Middle Eastern favorites, such as Baklawa, Maamoul, Namoura, or Ghraybeh, or good old-fashioned American favorites, from cakes to cookies to brownies and fudge.
Once you’ve satisfied your appetite, join in the Debke dance (instructors will teach you how), participate in a game of backgammon or chess, visit the vendors, or take a tour of the church. We will also have dozens of books and icons available to purchase from our bookstore.
There’s a Middle Eastern Hafli with live music and dancing taking place on Saturday, September 2 from 6pm – 11pm!
The Festival will be held rain or shine. Admission and parking are free.
