12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Roy Wilkins Park
QUEENS, NEW YORK
This is our First Annual ‘Minorities in Mental Health Festival’. Join us as we bring minority mental health professionals to discuss race and mental health, criminality and mental health, religion and mental health, education and mental health, holistic mental health and more. Enjoy music infused depictions of expression from law enforcement and individuals who have experienced mental health in a rap battle, dancers, artists, and other creatives sharing their experiences and how they cope with mental health disorders. Additionally, there will be a fashion show centered around designers that have inspirational and thought-provoking fashion lines. You have not experienced mental health support like this before but after this year, you can look forward to this yearly expression of education, support, and celebration of change. Change in our thinking, perspective, and understanding of mental health!
This event is FREEEEEEE!!! We will have a dj, food, sand and water play for children, motivational body art and henna, and more. Please RSVP so that we can ensure that we have more than enough food available.
*****Vendors with books or other items on specific topics in mental health, motivational material, inspiration etc, will be for sell. Vendors must email firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain approval before booking.
