DESCRIPTION:ABIQUIU\, NM\n\n\n\nA unique opportunity to delve into Islamic 
 art (Arabic calligraphy + illumination) held at sacred architecture in Abi
 quiu\, New Mexico\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMusic for the Eyes is an Islamic art retrea
 t set in the beautiful landscape of the American Southwest at Dar Al Islam
 \, a retreat center situated on sixteen hundred acres in Abiquiu\, New Mex
 ico. The landscape is dramatic\, utterly different from the rest of the Un
 ited States.\n\nDesigned by Egyptian architect Hasan Fathy\, the campus is
  anchored by its Nubian inspired mosque. Over the course of four days\, pa
 rticipants will have the unique opportunity to learn three different tradi
 tions of Arabic calligraphy and the art of Islamic illumination\, tehzib i
 n this majestic setting. In addition to the art workshops\, there will be 
 hikes and archery throughout the day\, with two evenings of concerts.\n\nT
 he Reed Society for the Sacred Arts and the West African Calligraphy In
 stitute invite you to discover the diversity of the calligraphic form and
  the art of Islamic illumination and join a growing community of people wh
 o seek to increase human understanding and compassion through artistic exp

  this October in Abiquiu\, New Mexico for a beautiful symphony.\n\nThis re
