DESCRIPTION:Join us Thursday\, July 27\, 2023\, to Sunday\, July 30\, 2023 
 for an intensive\, four-day retreat in Sacramento designed to introduce A
 merican Muslim high school students to the areas of media\, law\, and gove
 rnment–avenues that shape public opinion and public policy.\n\nABOUT MYL
 P:\n\nThe MYLP students will:\n\n 	Gain an in-depth understanding of Calif
 ornia’s legislative process\n 	Sharpen leadership skills\, gain valuable
  campaign and organizing tools\n 	Make new friends with other students fro
 m across California\n 	Meet elected officials and improve networking skill
 \n 	Receive hands-on training in the areas of civic engagement and media a
 dvocacy\n\nMock legislature at the State Capitol (serve as a senator for a
  day and debate important public policy issues ranging from elections\, ed
 ucation\, and public safety) MYLP relies on the support of young leaders i
 n our community to serve as advisors during the program. All advisors are 
 assigned to a group of 3 to 4 students and are responsible for creating a 
 welcoming and safe environment. Interested college students and young prof
