My World Travel International Cooking Class In A Box - LEBANON
LEBANON – My World Travel International Cooking Classes In A Box

About this Event

Pick up date: THURSDAY, AUGUST 27

*A significant portion of the profits made from this cooking class will be donated to the Lebanese Red Cross in response to the tragic Beirut explosion on August 4.*

Payment note: You can bypass Eventbrite fees and send me your total on Venmo @katie-kubitskey and I will register you manually.

Adjusted for our isolated lifestyles right now, My World Travel is launching Cooking Classes In A Box! Each iteration will feature the cuisine of a different country, with the option of going through the recipes on your own, or joining for a live Zoom cooking class at one set time. The class will also be recorded and sent to all attendees, so you can have all of the flexibility for participating you need.

Different than prior classes, the cooking class will be led by Katie Kubitskey (the usual hostess!) rather than professional chef Collin Oliver, since he is very busy feeding people right now during the pandemic. I, Katie, am *not* a professional chef, but a generally good cook with a knack for cultural trivia.

Katie will pack the boxes full of all of the ingredients you need, print the recipes for the dishes, and include specially curated cultural trivia .

The boxes will be available for pick up on my front porch (in Crescent Hill) any time on the set date. More details will be sent in a follow-up confirmation email.

LEBANESE MENU (subject to adjustment based on ingredient availability):

– Fattoush – a Levantine salad full of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and fried pieces of bread. Great as an appetizer or a fresh side to add to bites of the other dishes!

– Vegetarian Kibbeh – a fried, savory delicacy made of potatoes, peas, carrots, bulgur wheat, pine nuts, and spices.

– Sfiha – a Lebanese meat pie, literally translating to “meat on dough.” We will use ground beef as the meat.

– Needed at home: Frying pan, knife, oven, spatula, standard dinnerware

Please let me know of any dietary restrictions or allergies prior to the box pick up.

Feel free to reach out to with any questions.
