DESCRIPTION:AKRON\, OH\n\nNakba Rememberance Day\, observed annually on May
  15th\, commemmorates the Nakba ("catastrophe" in Arabic)\, marking the be
 ginnning of the mass displacement of Palestinians from their land. In 1948
 \, Palestinians experienced the forced displacement of over 750\,000 peopl
 e and the massacre of numerous Palestinian villages. This marked the begin
 ning of a history of persecution\, occupation\, and displacement for the P
 alestinian people.\n\nThis day serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoin
 g Palestinian struggle for justice and liberation. So join us for a day of
  reflection\, remembrance\, education\, and art as we honor the Palestinia
 n struggle for liberation and reclaim our narrative.\n\nThis in-person eve
 nt will feature guest speaker and author Rose Esber\, Nakba survivor testi
 monies\, music and poetry\, and more! Let's come together to commemorate t
 his important day and honor the ongoing sacrifices of the Palestinian peop
