DESCRIPTION:WASHINGTON\, DC\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nJoin us for a hands-on painti
 ng workshop exploring Palestine\, memory\, identity\, and diaspora through
  still life.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorking with symbolic objects that carry stories
  of home\, ritual\, and inheritance\, participants will reflect on the way
 s everyday things can hold the memory of family\, place\, and belonging.\n
 \nLed by artist Sarah Alsamarai\, the workshop will invite participants to
  develop a personal symbol—an object or image connected to their own his
 tory and experience—and transform it into a painted composition. In Pale
 stinian and diasporic life\, objects such as olives\, coffee vessels\, pom
 egranates\, and olive branches can carry what is not always easily said: m
 emory\, loss\, continuity\, care\, and attachment to homeland. Through gui
 ded prompts\, sketching\, and painting exercises\, participants will creat
 e a piece that reflects both personal memory and broader cultural narrativ
