About this event
The American Friends of the Palestinian House of Friendship (AFPHF) invites you to our annual fundraising event for PHF on Zoom this year. We will feature Mohammed Sawalha, educator, organizer, visionary, and peacemaker, who founded PHF in 1994, and has directed it since then.
The event will include video, music by Majed Sawalha, current news from Palestine and poetry by Sara Abou Rashed, with MCs Morgan Bassichis and Una Aya Osato. As PHF creatively adjusts to changing times, it continues to confront the hardships of life under military occupation, and Mohammed will be sharing stories about what the pandemic is like for Palestinian children and their families. He will also describe some of PHF’s current programs, including e-learning in West Bank schools, the recording studio, the Girl Scout Troop, Boxes of Love, and new outdoor activities for children that are called Green Hand Initiatives.
AFPHF has regional teams in New York City, Cambridge MA, Northampton MA, and Montpelier, VT, whose mission is to support PHF. In becoming virtual this year, we welcome new teams across the country! And we encourage you to invite interested friends to join us on May 16 at 4:00 p.m.
