Postcard Writing for Syrian Refugees
Date(s) - 12/05/2019
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK
Join us to hear from members and friends of the Ansche Chesed community about their experiences helping refugees in the U.S. and abroad and write postcards for Syrian refugees.
Laura Clark spent weeks at the U.S.-Mexico border volunteering with Border Angels and Al Otro Lado. She will share her experiences there doing accompaniment of LGBT refugees and facilitating “Know Your Rights” sessions.
Stephanie Rose traveled to Greece and Berlin as part of a Refugee Relief Mission Trip with the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue. She and fellow travelers, Lori Schneider and Kenneth Gore, share experiences and photos of the work the group did with refugee communities in Lesvos and Thessaloniki.
Stay after the presentation for wine and snacks and to take action! We’ll write postcards with messages of hope to Syrian refugee families. The cards will be included in humanitarian aid packages organized by the Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees. Everything will be supplied – even sample messages (in English or Arabic!) to get us started.
