DESCRIPTION:Washington\, DC\n\n\n\nJoin a special\, interactive heritage ex
 perience shaped by storytelling and dialogue\, led by two Rawis from AlUla
 \, Saudi Arabia.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQissa bi Qissa (“Swap a Story“) is a par
 ticipatory cultural exchange program\, co-crafted with UNESCO. This event 
 brings people together through stories inspired by cultural heritage objec
 ts. Sharing stories encourages shared discovery\, new perspectives\, and m
 eaningful connections across cultures.\n\nAbout the Rawis\n\nThe term “R
 awi“ comes from the Arabic word for “storyteller.“ Rawis bring the A
 lUla region and its heritage to life through knowledge\, interpretation\, 
 and human connection. This group is made up of Saudi men and women\, the m
 ajority of whom are from the local AlUla community.\n\nRawis work alongsid
 e archaeologists\, historians\, researchers\, and heritage specialists to 
 develop a deep understanding of AlUla’s archaeology\, history\, landscap
 es\, and living culture. This work includes collaborating with UNESCO on p
 ioneering ways to engage the public through the Live Museum model.\n\nThe 
 Rawis’ work has been celebrated internationally. They presented their ph
 otography exhibition\, I Am a Rawi: Sharing Stories of AlUla\, on the per
 imeter fences of UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. The show recognized the rol
 e of Rawis in connecting people with AlUla’s heritage and fostering inte
