Did you know that the Muslim festival of Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan? Throughout the holiday, people pray, exchange gifts, and greet each other by saying Eid Mubarak which means “blessed celebration!” Join Brooklyn Children’s Museum and our partners, Turkish Cultural Center and the Arab American Family Support Center, as we learn the story of Eid al-Fitr and celebrate with a full day of live Turkish music and food, folk dance with Freedom Dabka Group,
family portraits, water marbling, calligraphy, and more! Make sure to stop by our cultural center located at the rooftop bazaar to learn about Muslim life and traditions from all over the world.

ColorLab: Eid Edition

Make a family keepsake to share with your loved ones! Inspired by portrait artists Moshtari Hilal and Hassan Hajjaj, all groups can get their photo taken and create their own frames to take their keepsake home.

The Story of Eid al-Fitr

Did you know that Eid al-Fitr means “Festival of breaking the fast?” Join us in our Visiting Exhibition Gallery to learn the history of Eid al-Fitr and hear stories of traditional Turkish folklore.

Head to our rooftop bazaar and enjoy Turkish treats provided by the Turkish Cultural Center. Explore our culture showcase while you eat and learn all about Muslim traditions from around the world.

Live Art Exhibition

Stop into the classroom and watch live demonstrations of Turkish water marbling and calligraphy!

Wahab Orchestra Presents Live Turkish Music

Join the Wahab Orchestra for a live Turkish music extravaganza. Hear the Oud and other traditional instruments.

Freedom Dabka Dance and Workshop

Join Freedom Dabka Group for a Dabka performance and workshop. Take part in this Middle-Eastern dance tradition that tells stories of folklore through music and movement.

Sensory Room: Moon Mobile

Head down to Sensory Room to create an Eid inspired mobile decorated with stars and moons.

Children’s Concert featuring Amity School Choir

BCM is proud to present the Brooklyn Amity School Orchestra! Hear traditional Turkish songs and sing along with the Children’s Choir.
