 mpour Vocabulary.\n\nThis workshop will give you a taste of the innovative
  Salimpour Vocabulary. You’ll learn the names of steps and families as w
 ell as an overview of how the vocabulary is structured . You’ll also get
  a glimpse of the wider Salimpour School training program and why it has b
 ecome one of the most influential and widely-acclaimed approaches to belly
  dance in the world.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSalimpour Vocabulary\n\nBeginning in th
 e 1940s\, Jamila Salimpour began naming and categorizing belly dance steps
  as performed by famous and unknown Oriental dancers from the Middle East.
  Starting in the late 1960s\, her daughter Suhaila Salimpour began adding 
 steps and "Families" that she saw dancers perform throughout the Arab worl
 d. The result is a comprehensive collection of belly dance movements that 
 are at once classic and timeless. Finger cymbals are an integral part of t
 he Jamila Salimpour Format\, not just as accompaniment\, but as a fully-re
 alized musical instrument. Jamila Salimpour might be known as the “Mothe
 r of Tribal Style\,” but this vocabulary spans all stylizations and gene
