 wakib and Dorothy are teaming up to bring you a dance party centering SWA
 NA/MENA music! Haflas have made headlines in NYC and LA\, now it's time f
 or Chicago to have her own shine.\n\nDetroit baddie Tammy Lakkis (@tammy
 lakkis) and Chicago’s own Rumr (@_1.312_rumr__) will spin\, so wear yo
 ur dancing shoes\, cuties.\n\nDoors at 6pm and DJs play from 7-10pm! Ent
 ry is a sliding scale option of $15-25 - proceeds are split between our 
 performers and our lounge!\n\nDorothy is 21+ and requires a physical ID 
 for entry. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbe

 mr is a DJ\, producer\, and self-described criminal queer emerging in Chi
 cago’s underground rave scene. She plays a variety of genres including h
 ouse\, techno\, and industrial music\, mixing along the dystopian &amp\; f
 uturistic undercurrents that connect club music to its origins in the Midw
 est where she is from. As a transsexual woman born to both Lebanese and Ir
 anian families\, she is thrilled to make her club debut in the company of 
 her beloved queer SWANA community. This Hafla mix will highlight music fro
 m all over the region\, particularly Mazzika &amp\; Slam! classics\, as we
 ll as modern techno tracks by trailblazing producers of SWANA descent.\n\n
 With a voice described by NPR as “sheepish soul” and a bold electronic
  production style\, Tammy Lakkis is no stranger to holding nuance. Raise
 d between Michigan and Ontario\, the artist has carved a unique pathway fo
 r herself since the launch of her debut EP Notice\, gaining traction in th
 e underground dance scene for her all-hardware live sets of genre-defying 
 beats. With the titular single securing a spot on NPR’s “100 Best Song
 s of 2021” list\, Notice–released through Shigeto’s Portage Garage S
 ounds label–is currently on its third vinyl pressing. She maintains a pr
 esence in Detroit hosting two DJ residencies and playing regularly around 
 the city and beyond. Her eclectic DJ sets fluctuate between funky flirty h
 ouse and hard club bangers\, often garnished with Arabic music and melodie
 s.
