DESCRIPTION:PRINCETON\, NJ\n\nAs part of the third edition of the Princeton
  French Film Festival\, you're invited to the exceptional screening of A T
 housand and One Berber Nights (2024) by scholar and filmmaker Hisham Aidi 
 of Columbia University who will be in attendance for a Q&amp\;A with the a
 udience. Introduction and moderation by Prof. Habiba Boumlik (CUNY).\n\nTh
 is film screening event is offered in conjunction with Alia Bensliman’s 
 “Now and Then: Amazigh Resurgence” exhibition at the Arts Council of P
 rinceton.\n\nFollowed by a reception with special Moroccan food and drinks
  catered by local Casablanca Restaurant.\n\nPractical information:\nOpen t
 o everyone upon registration. In Arabic and English with English subtitles
 \, the screening will start at 4:00 PM on Saturday\, April 12th\, 2025\, a
 nd will last approximately 53 minutes. Doors to the screening room open at
  3:45 PM and the exhibition is accessible during normal hours from April 5
 th to May 3rd\, 2025.\n\nSynopsis:\nIn the late 1950s Hassan Ouakrim was a
  young dancer and actor in Morocco. Little did he know that he would soon 
 become the protegé of La Mama Theatre founder Ellen Stewart\, performing 
 across America\, forming friendships with the likes of jazz virtuosos Orne
 tte Coleman and Randy Weston\, and becoming a pioneer in spreading Berber 
 dance and music in North America.
