 kousa mahshy with a tangy cucumber yogurt sauce. Enjoy a communal sit-do
 wn dinner\, traditional mint tea\, and life reflections that will take 
 you right back to grandma’s kitchen.\n\nNajah\, whose roots stretch fro
 m Hebron\, Palestine\, to Amman\, Jordan\, moved to Canada in 1987 - bring
 ing with her a love of Middle Eastern traditions and flavours. She is the 
 author of “Quick and Easy Cookbook: A Recipe and a Poem - Middle Eastern
  Cuisine.”\n\nSofra is a monthly outdoor cooking class hosted by The B
 ackyard Farmer and a featured guest.\n\nSofra (سفرة)\, meaning “t
 able spread” in Arabic\, is a space where cross-cultural cuisine meets s
 easonal\, locally-sourced produce. Guided by our elders\, we use what’s 
 in season\, learn about the produce we are using\, and give “ugly produc
 e” a chance at the limelight with traditional recipes from around the wo
 rld.\n\nOur aim is to foster a love of seasonal cooking\, cultural explora
 tion\, and community. A communal dinner preparation and mealtime - it’s 
 just like grandma’s kitchen\, only if you had a grandma from every corne
