DESCRIPTION:Newton\, MA\nThe Spring Hafla (Arabic for party)\, is a bi-annu
 al multicultural showcase of dance ranging from MENAHT (Middle Eastern\, N
 orth African\, Hellenic\, Turkish) to Asian\, Balkan\, and Eastern Europea
 n styles. In the past\, we have had a Bollywood number\, Raqs Sharqi ("Dan
 ce of the East"/Arabic dance)\, Shaabi (Egyptian style meaning "of the peo
 ple")\, Turkish\, American Modern Fusion\, Greek/Tsiftetelli\, and even a 
 Hungarian folk number. We have featured artists from all over New England\
 , including Maine\, NH\, VT\, Western MA\, and the Boston area. It is a fu
 n opportunity for the community to experience multicultural dance and musi
 c in person. We strive to promote peace and joy through dance. There will 
 be refreshments and social dancing after the performance.\n\nFeaturing exc
 iting new performances from House of Andromeda\, Kaylin\, Soraya Jamal\, N
 amid\, and joining us again from VT - Amity Alize!\n\nShow run time will b
 e around 60 to 90 minutes long.\n\nAndromeda Belly Dance was established b
 y Director Andromeda of Boston in 2015. We are a dance troupe embracing cu
 ltural dance\, body positivity\, and empowerment of women and minorities i
 n the community. We have performed in private and public venues\, includin
 g the Adventure and Travel Show at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston a
 nd local assisted living facilities. We have also performed with other loc
 al dance organizations. We enjoy producing our own shows in Newton twice a
  year.\n\nThis program is supported in part by a grant from the Newton Cul
 tural Council\, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Cou
 ncil\, a state agency. We are also thrilled to be supported this year by N
 ewton Community Pride\, a local agency.\n\nAlcohol is not allowed on the p
 remises. Street parking is available. Event is accessible. GRACE CHURCH IS
