 hip with Concert of Colors Neighborhood Programs\, presents “Still We Si
 ng\,” featuring Omar Offendum’s “Little Syria\,” with special gues
 t\, Lubana Al-Quntar. “Little Syria\,” set against the backdrop of New
  York City’s fabled Little Syria neighborhood (1880–1940)\, is a one-o
 f-a-kind performance that bridges hip-hop and live Arabic instrumentation 
 with the centuries-old Hakawati storytelling tradition of the Levant.\n\nA
 ward-winning rapper and poet Omar Offendum is joined onstage by Palestinia
 n oud virtuoso\, Ronnie Malley\, and music producer\, Thanks Joey\, to bri
 ng to life what it meant to be Arab in America over a century ago. It’s 
 a story that still speaks directly to today’s conversations around immig
 ration\, xenophobia\, and the ever-evolving idea of the American Dream.\n\
 nAlthough this is a FREE performance\, all attending patrons require a tic
 ket.\n\n\n\nConcert of Colors Neighborhood Programs is a collaboration wit
 h community-based organizations across Metro Detroit\, presenting a series
  of free events that celebrate the cultural traditions that have helped sh
 ape our nation. Together\, these programs are a reminder that the journey 
 toward a more perfect union begins with listening\, sharing\, and creating
  solutions together.\n\nConcert of Colors Neighborhood Programs is support
 ed by the Gilbert Family Foundation\, the Kresge Foundation\, and the Smit
 hsonian Folklife Festival\, and is presented in partnership with Detroit P
