About this Event
Last year, a group of Sheffield Hallam University students were fortunate enough to travel to Lebanon and make films which would raise awareness about the continuing refugee crisis there. However, they also found themselves forming forever lasting bonds with the people they have met so, obviously, the students didn’t want to stop helping even after they have left. Now, with the Covid 19 pandemic roaming our world, the situation of the refugees is more desperate then ever. Lockdown means families with young children are now facing hunger and potentially life threatening consequences.
This online film festival will feature the films the students have made during their time in Lebanon. We will also host a short Q&A with the filmmakers after each film and you can find out more about the films and the people from Beqaa Valley.
All the funds from the ticketing will go towards paying for urgently needed food bundles for 100 Syrian refugee families living in makeshift, unofficial camps.
