DESCRIPTION:"This year the Arab Resource &amp\; Organizing Center is celebr
 ating our 15-year anniversary of building intergenerational power in the A
 rab and Muslim community.\nFrom providing free immigration services\, to m
 obilizing folks to take the streets\, AROC focuses on organizing our worki
 ng class\, activist\, and migrant communities. Our organization is committ
 ed to the dignity and liberation of our peoples\, recognizing the importan
 ce of building solidarity across all movements. Since 2007\, we’ve had h
 uge successes in ending Urban Shield\, Blocking the Boat\, providing Arabi
 c in our schools\, and defending our communities. This work could not have
  been accomplished without all our allies\, members\, and of course\, the 
 communities we serve.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWe are delighted to invite you to Takk
 aful: 15 Years of AROC Celebration Event\, on a beautiful rooftop overlook
 ing Lake Meritt in downtown Oakland\, on indigenous ancestral Lisjan Ohlon
 e territory. In Arabic\, Takkaful تكافل means “sharing the burdens
 ” of support and mutual aid as a community. In other words\, we got us. 
 This is a huge milestone for our organization and we look forward to build
 ing together another 15 years with our people in the spirit of empowerment
  and joyful burden sharing. Expect an incredible evening of celebration\, 
 light food\, and music. Featuring special performances from our AYO youth\
 , with headliners Omar Offendum in collaboration with local oud player Cla
 rissa Bitar weaving storytelling\, hip hop\, and song to honor the proud h
 istory and legacy of the Arab community in the U.S. and beyond...\n\nTicke
