This two-week trip to Morocco promises a unique experience of discovery of the diversity and richness of an ancient culture that is also at the cutting edge of modern innovation. Morocco is a global community with a remarkable cultural and ethnic diversity. Visiting the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a Berber village in the Atlas mountains, the French cultural center and many other locales, Moroccan history and culture will come alive. Students will explore the perceptions, practices, and products of Morocco’s diverse cultures in order to acquire an understanding of and sensitivity towards multiple cultural perspectives. Students will also analyze the cultures studied in comparison with their own in order to challenge and deepen their understanding of their own worldviews and in order to be better prepared to work in a globalized world.
