  This Event\nIn honor of International Palestinian Children's Day\, Missis
 sippi for a Just World (MSJW) is hosting a special documentary screening o
 f The Voice of Hind Rajab\, the Academy Award®-nominated film by Kaouthe
 r Ben Hania.\n\nOn January 29\, 2024\, 5-year-old Hind Rajab was trapped i
 n a car under heavy Israeli military fire in Gaza. Her emergency calls rea
 ched volunteers with the Palestine Red Crescent Society\, who worked despe
 rately to calm her and coordinate a rescue. The rescue efforts were obstru
 cted by Israeli military checkpoints and the intentional targeting of aid 
 and healthcare workers trying to reach her.\n\nIn The Voice of Hind Rajab
 \, Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania (Four Daughters\
 , The Man Who Sold His Skin) blends the actual phone recordings from the 
 incident with a re-telling of the story of the emergency workers racing ag
 ainst time and the emotional toll of trying to save a child under impossib
 le conditions.\n\nBy focusing on one life\, and on the volunteers risking 
 their own lives to rescue civilians\, Ben Hania brings humanity and urgenc
 y to a war that has killed or caused the death\, injury\, and displacement
  of more than 2\,000\,000 Palestinians\, according to a recent United Nati
 ons estimate. The film was made in partnership and collaboration with Hind
 ’s family and the Palestine Red Crescent Society.\n\nThis event is free 
 and open to the public. Registration is encouraged to help us plan for att
 endance and seating.\nAbout MSJW\nMississippi for a Just World (MSJW) is 
 a human rights organization based in Mississippi that bridges the fight to
  build a more just world from the Deep South to the Global South. Our goal
  is to be a living\, breathing movement for human rights\, deeply rooted i
 n the enduring legacy of Mississippi's human liberation struggle. Across b
 orders and cultures\, irrespective of our different political\, cultural\,
  and social backgrounds\, we are fighting for a world where every individu
