SUMMARY:The West Bank on Fire: Examining Israeli Settler Violence
DESCRIPTION:Acts of terrorism perpetrated by Israeli settlers in the Occupi
ed West Bank reached an all-time high in 2024\, with the United Nations Of
fice for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reporting over 1\,400 in
cidents of settler violence and over 4\,000 Palestinians forcibly displace
d due to settler and IDF aggression. With the Israeli settlement enterpris
e growing at alarming rates\, and violence in the territory spiking\, the
prospects for peace and a two-state solution have grown farther out of rea
ch\, leading many to believe that the two-state solution is dead.\n\nJoin
the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy for a panel discussion to
launch Middle East analyst Rachel Nelson’s policy report\, “How State-
Sanctioned Terrorism by Israeli Settlers Affects the Two-State Solution.
” Panelists will examine the systemic acts of terrorism perpetrated by I
sraeli settlers and its impacts on Palestinian safety\, the two-state solu
tion\, and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East\, as well as possible so
lutions forward towards peace.\n\nEvent is both in-person and on Zoom.
