SPSC in discussion + Q&A with Majd Nasrallah and Jeff Halper of the One Democratic State Campaign (ODSC)
A single apartheid state currently exists in Palestine, while even the public proponents of a two-state solution sound as if they no longer believe it is possible, even if it was desirable. ODSC argues the only solution possible to exit the disaster Zionism has created in Palestine is the establishment of a single democracy between the River and the Sea. An increasing number of progressive Palestinians and critical Israelis have begun to start thinking seriously about one Democratic State. The ODSC has formulated a 10-point political program that several hundred Palestinians and Israelis have already signed on to.
ODSC Coordinator Majd Nasrallah and founding member Jeff Halper will join us for a Zoom discussion covering the political reality in Palestine today and the opportunities and challenges facing the one state campaign.
Majd is based in Qalansuwa, Palestine 48. His is a researcher, community organizer, and works in project development. He served as General Director of Tishreen Association, a grassroots activism organization for young people in the Triangle area.
Jeff is an Israeli anthropologist and heads the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD). His latest book is War Against the People: Israel, the Palestinians and Global Pacification (London: Pluto, 2015).
Join SPSC’s Mick Napier and our two guests on Thursday 28th May at 4pm UK time = 6pm Palestine time
