Yemen is in the grip of one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes in the world — 3 million people have been forced to flee their homes because of increased violence in the country – and more than 22 million vulnerable Yemenis are in immediate need of humanitarian assistance.
- 3 million forced to flee – The conflict has threatened millions of lives. 75 percent of the population requires some form of humanitarian assistance.
- 15+ million people – More than 15 million people, or 53 percent of Yemen’s population, are on the brink of starvation as access to food diminishes every day across the country.
- 1.1 million with choleraIn 2017 – Yemen experienced the largest cholera epidemic in the world. Deteriorating conditions increase the spread of preventable disease.
