 e multi-generational artists with roots to West Asia and North Africa who 
 call the Washington\, D.C. area home. The exhibition’s title reflects th
 e Arabic word meaning to trace\, a footprint\, a memory\, or an echo\, and
  the long lineage of artists with roots from the region who have contribut
 ed to the cultural fabric of the D.C. area. Traces ( آثار ) illustra
 tes the multitude of ways the artists utilize abstraction\, collage\, gra
 phic design\, figuration\, photography\, moving image and craft\, to draw 
 from their heritage\, culture\, and complex personal histories and respon
 d to the present condition.\n\nFeatured are: Aiyah Sibay\, Anysa Saleh\, D
 ina AZ. Salem\, Ebtisam Abdulaziz\, Fadia Jawdat\, Hannah Atallah\, Helen
