DESCRIPTION:(WASHINGTON\, D.C.\, 2/26/24) – The US Council of Muslim Org
 anizations (USCMO) is proud to announce the official launch of the 9th an
 nual National Muslim Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill\, slated to occur on Mon
 day\, April 29\, and Tuesday\, April 30\, at the U.S. Capitol in Washingto
 n\, D.C.\n\nIn order to schedule all meetings for attendees in a timely ma
 nner\, USCMO urges all interested participants to register for this crucia
 l event at least one month in advance. The deadline for registration is s
 et for Friday\, March 29.\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\nRepresentatives from nationa
 l\, state\, and local Muslim organizations and communities are strongly en
 couraged to join this two-day advocacy event. Delegates and activists will
  engage with congressional offices to address the pressing issues affectin
 g American Muslims amidst today’s political landscape.\n\nThe issues we'
 ll be focusing on include combating the alarming increase in anti-Muslim h
 ate crimes\, safeguarding the free speech of Americans\, ensuring the U.S.
  government does not remain complicit in Israel’s genocide and occupatio
 n of Palestinians\, and more.\n\nParticipants of past events have shared t
 heir experiences through photos and commentary on social media platforms\,
  using the hashtag #MuslimHillDay.\n\nIn a statement\, USCMO Secretary-Ge
 neral Oussama Jammal said\, "Mobilizing Muslims to engage with their membe
 rs of Congress is a time-honored tradition\, and National Muslim Advocacy 
 Day on Capitol Hill underscores our community's commitment to civic engage
 ment\, ensuring that our voices are heard on issues that directly impact o
 ur communities\, especially before a national election."\n\nIn a statement
 \, USCMO National Board Chair and Muslim Legal Fund of America Chief Exec
 utive Officer Arshia Ali-Khan said\, "Standing up for our rights and conc
 erns is not just a Muslim duty but an embodiment of American principles\, 
 reflecting American Muslim's dedication to the American values of justice\
 , equality\, and freedom for all individuals."\n\nDuring the seventh annua
 l National Muslim Advocacy Day last year\, over 500 delegates from 20 stat
 es convened with more than 200 elected officials and congressional staffer
