DESCRIPTION:\nAbout this event\n\n&nbsp\;\nJoin us for an evening of Jazz w
 ith Ben Black\, with new music! This concert is a fundraiser to support th
 e Children of Palestine.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA portion of the proceeds will ben
 efit the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF)\, a registered 501 non-go
 vernmental organization established in 1991 committed to delivering crucia
 l and life-saving medical relief and humanitarian aid where it is needed m
 ost.\n\nBen Black has been a performer on the Seattle jazz scene since 198
 5\, and spent two years as a music student at Cornish College. His career 
 also spans new opera-theatre\, cabaret\, and African drumming and dance. H
 e studied jazz improvisation for a number of years with pioneer jazz vocal
 ist\, Jay Clayton.\n\nBen is proud of his multicultural background which i
 ncludes ancestors from Armenia\, Slovenia\, Germany\, Scotland and Ireland
 . He grew up in a military family in which there were a number of musician
 s. As he was growing up\, his parents exposed him to stellar jazz vocalist
 s and instrumentalists of the times\, including Ella Fitzgerald\, Sarah Va
 ughan\, Nina Simone\, Sergio Mendes and Brazil ’66\, and many of the gre
 at Broadway musicals of the 20th century.\n\nBen’s expressive\, androgyn
 ous style of singing has allowed him the unique capability of performing m
 ultiple styles of music. Channeling different genres in the music he write
 s and performs\, Ben Black achieves his own unique sound. His performances
  are full of energy and passion which are a must see for any music lover o
 r concert goer.\n\nA portion of the proceeds will benefit the Palestine Ch
 ildren's Relief Fund (PCRF)\, a registered 501 non-governmental organizati
 on established in 1991 committed to delivering crucial and life-saving med
