 d 501 non-governmental organization established in 1991 committed to deliv
 ering crucial and life-saving medical relief and humanitarian aid where ne
 eded.\n\nBen Black has performed on the Seattle jazz scene since 1985\, an
 d spent two years as a music student at Cornish College. His career also s
 pans new opera-theatre\, cabaret\, and African drumming and dance. He stud
 ied jazz improvisation for several years with pioneer jazz vocalist Jay Cl
 ayton.\n\nBen is proud of his multicultural background\, including ancesto
 rs from Armenia\, Slovenia\, Germany\, Scotland\, and Ireland. He grew up 
 in a military family in which there were a number of musicians. As he was 
 growing up\, his parents exposed him to stellar jazz vocalists and instrum
 entalists of the times\, including Ella Fitzgerald\, Sarah Vaughan\, Nina 
 Simone\, Sergio Mendes and Brazil ’66\, and many of the great Broadway m
 usicals of the 20th century.\n\nBen’s expressive\, androgynous singing s
 tyle has allowed him to perform multiple styles of music uniquely. Ben Bla
 ck achieves his unique sound by channeling different genres in the music h
 e writes and performs. His performances are full of energy and passion\, w
 hich are a must-see for any music lover or concertgoer.\n\nThe concert wil
