A study of the female characters in the Qur’ān, their lives as examples, and what we can learn from them. This is a tafsīr course that draws from Classical Exegesis such as Tafseer ibn Katheer, At-Tabari, Al-Qurtubi and others. It aims to explore the narratives in the Qur’ān focusing on the descriptions of key characters, promoting a dynamic engagement with them.

For each character we will:

• Look at the key verses that discuss them and a translation of these verses
• Discuss their context and story
• Study the linguistic implications of the verses
• Analyse the portrayal and presentation of each character
• Reflect on how we can practically apply lessons from their lives, into our own.

Each class will include interactive discussions and end with a Q&A with Ustadha. Class recordings will be available for 3 days after each lesson.
