Jump start your week at The Yard with World Music Tuesdays!
This lineup of worldly musicians on the Simple Vodka Stage will take you on a trip around the globe without ever having to leave the city. From Brazilian funk and Caribbean folk to Parisian gypsy jazz and Afro-Caribbean artistry, World Music Tuesdays are here to give music lovers a taste of it all.
Shows take place under the Eventstar pavilion: Since the lawn is covered these shows go on rain or shine. World Music Tuesdays are free and open to the public.
January 15th: Emilia Garth Band
Emilia is a vocal powerhouse- fiery energy wrapped in honey. She got her start singing reggae in Hawaii. She delved into the Brazilian music scene in Miami, before moving to Brazil in 2009 where she performed throughout the region. Next, returned to her roots in Hawaii, this time picking up the ukulele as her travel companion. She toured Japan singing Hawaiian music with her sister, Noelani Love, in 2014. In 2015 she returned to Miami, jumping into the electronic scene as a singer/ songwriter, performing in underground clubs at night, and jamming with her ukulele by day.
January 22nd: Anabel & Mounir: Mediterranean Flamenco Rumba
The versatile duo, “Anabel & Mounny”, has been playing at many different venues in the Miami area for the past 4 years. In just the first few years of working together, they have collected an entirely organic fan base and have gained a formidable reputation in the local music scene. They have an amazing energy that has proven to capture audiences both young and old, and a rhythm that never fails to inspire bystanders to clap and sing along. Anabel, originally from Spain, sings and speaks in Spanish, French, Italian, and English. Mounny, Originally from Tunisia, has a style of playing flamenco guitar and singing that could enchant an audience to the point of losing track of time. Flamenco rumba is their specialty, They also have an enormous repertoire of music and hit songs in English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Arabic.
