Two national political veterans are being honored in Detroit as Arab Americans who have served their country with distinction.

President Ronald Reagan’s White House Chief of Protocol Selwa “Lucky” Roosevelt and President Bill Clinton’s Ambassador to Morocco Edward Gabriel will be presented Arab American of the Year Awards at the annual dinner of ACCESS on Saturday. The Dearborn-based organization formerly known as the Arab American Community Center for Economic and Social Services typically draws about 2,000 people to the event.

Individual tickets are $75 for the dinner starting at 6 p.m. at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.
