Chantal Chamandy DVD Released--On Sale at Borders, Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com

Montreal based international singer-songwriter, Chantal Chamandy’s new DVD, “Chantal Chamandy Beladi: A Night at the Pyramids” is now available for sale at all Borders, Barnes and Noble and Amazon bookstores throughout the U.S. The DVD will retail for $18.99.

According to Amazon, “Egyptian-born Canadian vocalist Chantal Chamandy performs against the majestic backdrop of the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx in a concert staged to promote peace through cultural exchange. With the Cairo Symphony Orchestra to back her and a troupe of ten dancers to dazzle the cheering crowd, Chamandy becomes the first artist ever permitted to perform at the base of the Pyramids on the Giza plateau.”

Chamandy is set to perform her new “Beladi” Concert at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, Michigan, 48126 on Thursday July 3, 2008 at 8PM. She is also planing similar concerts in New York, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco.

The live concert in Detroit will recreate the television special utilizing an eclectic Middle Eastern theme of over 20 musicians and performers. This much awaited and anticipated performance will be the first of its kind to premier in Michigan.

Chantal Chamandy is an artist/entertainer with vision, talent and a mission to send a much needed message of peace, hope and acceptance in a world filled with violence and uncertainty. Chantal Chamandy’s career in the music industry is based on “peace through culture” Her message is one of acceptance, hope, and an unwavering commitment to garner peace through understanding of culture and acceptance of diversity.

Chamandy was born in Alexandria, Egypt, of Greek/Egyptian and Lebanese parentage. She moved to Montreal, Canada when she was a young girl, and speaks French, Italian and Spanish as well as Arabic and English. Her new single “Beladi” was released in conjunction with her public television special in March 2008. Her single “Love Needs You” shot to the top of the charts in 2007 along with her single “Feels Like Love” which climbed the charts only three weeks after its release. The single was certified platinum by the CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association) in 2007.
