The American Arab Anti Discrimination Committee is pleased to announce that the Dean of the House of Representatives, Congressman John Dingell (D-MI) will accept the Lifetime Legislative Achievement Award. Congressman Dingell is the longest serving member of the US House of Representatives and has been representing the Southwest Metropolitan Detroit area since 1955.

ADC is also pleased to announced that two more Members of Congress have confirmed their attendance and participation during this year’s ADC Annual National Convention. Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) will be present at this year’s ADC convention to present the Hala Salam Maksoud Award posthumously in honor of Marwan Burgan.

Marwan was a longtime member of ADC and a highly regarded leader in the Arab-American community. During his life, he was able to accomplish a great deal for the causes in which he believed, and he continued to be active until the very last minute of his life. He was particularly active on Capitol Hill, spending part of his career as a staff director for Congressman Dymally, and supporting Arab-American efforts in the Nation’s capital.
