Documentary casting Arabic-accented English speakers. 4 Males and 1 Female. Accent must be light enough to be easily understood by an American audience. Non Union.
Based on a Memoir which takes place between about 1917 – 1922 in the Middle East. Mostly in what today is Syria, Jordan, Jebel Druze.
Ideally the accent is similar to that of the Hashemite Arabs’ accent at the time. Our understanding is that today’s Jordanian accent could work. Also certain Syrian and Iraqi accents.
We have five roles – One older male, two 30-40 years olds and a 40-50 year old, These were sophisticated and powerful men of their time. Not “modern hipsters.” Female is a Sheikh’s wife. Middle aged. Powerful.
