One-day conference followed by a concert exploring sound and music in Muslim contexts. In person and virtual attendance.

The conference will examine four key aspects : Significance of sound in Muslim contexts, Oral Tradition and Memorization, Music Education in Muslim Communities and Understanding Islam through its Art. The conference concludes with an evening concert featuring three ensembles performing musical traditions from across the Muslim world.

Our speakers are : Oludamini Ogunnaike, Asad Ali Jafri, Ani Zonneveld, Mehmet Ali Sanlikol, Sami Abu Shumays, Eden Mac-Adam Somer, Samir LanGus, Hasan Imam Hamdani, Jawwad Noor and Aisha Imam.
