The Jerusalem Fund invites you to an evening with Sharif S. Elmusa and Judith E. Tucker on the Remembering Gaza Scholars website
This website honors and commemorates the many Palestinian scholars murdered in Gaza during the genocide perpetrated by Israel by documenting their rich lives and legacies and capturing what their loss has cost intellectual life, institutions of higher education, and their families in Palestine. Their biographies reflect the diversity, resilience, and remarkable record of accomplishment of these academics as they labored under the most challenging of conditions.
The conversation will introduce the website and the process of constructing it, and reflect on the wider questions it raises: the destruction of institutions of higher education in Gaza, the role of archives and public memory in documenting lives that must be remembered, and the imperative of accountability for the perpetrators of these murders.
The program will feature remarks from two of the archive’s authors, followed by conversation and audience Q&A.
