Akimbo and the Borderless Book + Cinema Collective (BBCC) are running a new series: an international book and film club where we globetrot via, yes, books and movies.

For our inaugural event, we’re looking at Palestine. We will be reading Minor Detail by Adania Shibli and watching Salt of This Sea. Seating will be limited so —

About BBCC: just a couple of cinephiles + bibliophiles who don’t want to be isolationist regarding the media they consume.

About the speaker: Yaqeen Yamani is a media studies graduate of Al Quds Bard College who is pursuing an MFA in photography at Tyler School of Art and Architecture and co-founder of Jericho Cinema Club.

Yamani will be interviewed by Cole Seidl, an Assistant Professor of Cinema and Screen Studies at Monroe Community College and former professor at Al-Quds Bard College in Abu Dis, Palestine.
