Akimbo and the Borderless Book + Cinema Collective (BBCC) are running a new series: an international book and film club where we globetrot via, yes, books and movies. 🎬🍿

For our inaugural event, we’re looking at Palestine. We will be reading Minor Detail by Adania Shibli and watching Salt of This Sea. Seating will be limited so —

About BBCC: just a couple of cinephiles + bibliophiles who don’t want to be isolationist regarding the media they consume.

About the speaker: Yaqeen Yamani is a media studies graduate of Al Quds Bard College who is pursuing an MFA in photography at Tyler School of Art and Architecture and co-founder of Jericho Cinema Club.

Yamani will be interviewed by Cole Seidl, an Assistant Professor of Cinema and Screen Studies at Monroe Community College and former professor at Al-Quds Bard College in Abu Dis, Palestine.
