Organization:

Peter Herdrich, co-founder of the Antiquities Coalition, shares his experiences in conserving historic collections and archaeological sites across the Middle East and North Africa. Herdrich’s organization was established to stem illicit looting and global sales of antiquities, and he has handled preservation projects across Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, and Yemen. During his lecture, Herdrich will describe the challenges facing preservationists today — including digitization, documentation, and accessibility – and discuss how collaboration on cultural heritage preservation is influencing cooperation amongst nations in the Middle East and North Africa.
