Forget Flip Flops! Bella Hadid Finds Summer’s Perfect Sandal

This year, the battle for shoe of the summer has been especially competitive. Constantly in search of fresh styles, celebrities have embraced everything from the peep-toe boot—Victoria Beckham is a fan—to the Kardashian-approved flip flop heel. The jury is out on whether either will have staying power, but in the meantime Bella Hadid is busy testing the next buzzy style. Spotted yesterday in New York after a photo shoot for Michael Kors, Hadid wore a bright blue pair of Nicole Saldana’s square toed Sarah sandals.
In ripped dark wash jeans from Re/Done, a navy pullover, and her signature teensy sunglasses, Hadid was uncharacteristically dressed down, but her shoes elevated the entire look. With their sculptural chrome heels and glossy patent leather, they added a touch of polish without detracting from the casual, model off-duty vibe of her outfit.
Hadid and her stylist Mimi Cuttrell have been smart about adopting trends first, but the supermodel isn’t the only star who’s fallen in love with Saldana’s footwear. In June, Laura Harrier sported a similar pair on Instagram, while Hollywood’s foremost early adopter Rihanna was wearing her furry Dylan mules way back in 2017. With their candy colors and shiny texture, Hadid’s micro heels are an effortless choice for day and a worthy contender for shoe of the season.
