Justice Salim Joubran Honored at Decalogue Society’s Merit Award Dinner

Last night, Judge Haddad emceed The Decalogue Society’s Merit Award Dinner honoring Justice Salim Joubran, the first Arab to sit on the Israel Supreme Court, at the Union League Club in Chicago.

Judge Haddad told that crowd that Justice Joubran has been vocal in enforcing Israel’s ban on “hate speech which incites racism and violence” and is “almost certain to hurt the feelings of Israeli Arabs.”  Justice Joubran has said that “hate speech inherently degrades the moral values of the whole of society”. (Bloomberg View, 12/11/15) In the past the coveted Merit Award has been given to such notables as Albert Einstein, Harry S. Truman, Eleanor Roosevelt, Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg, Dr. Jonas Salk and author Saul Bello
