Lettuce-Orange and Saskatoon Berry Salad

In North Africa salads are often prepared from oranges and other fruit and usually served as appetizers. The beauty of this dish is that it can also serve as a light summer entrée or dessert.
It is light and fresh, a real diner’s pleasure.
3 large seedless oranges, peeled and sectioned, then sections cut in half
4 cups 1-inch pieces romaine lettuce
1 cup fresh Saskatoon berries or blueberries
4 tablespoons pine nuts, lightly toasted
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon orange or rose blossom water
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Combine the oranges, lettuce, Saskatoons and pine nuts in a salad bowl and set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients then pour over the salad bowl contents. Toss then serve immediately.
