posted on: Oct 20, 2014

Mohammad Assaf returned to his old stomping grounds on Saturday night with a nostalgic Arab Idol performance.

A year since he won the title of the competition, he returned to the show’s stage armed with tracks from his debut album, Assaf. The Palestinian singer also evoked memories by singing one of his most popular covers, Ali Al Keffiyeh (Raise Your Keffiyeh).

The performance came on the heels of the Friday night Arab Idol episode, during which the contestants came together for a group performance of an Arabic rendition of Let It Go from the Disney film, Frozen.
On Saturday night, Egyptian contestant Momen Khalil was voted off the show, with the least amount of support from viewers out of the 13 contestants.
Arab Idol airs every Friday and Saturday at 10.05pm on MBC 1 and MBC Masr.
