posted on: May 13, 2008

Montreal lighting designer Matthieu Larivée has been awarded the prestigious MELDA award. Larivée won the award for “2008 Lighting Design of the Year” in the temporary installations/concerts category at the Middle East Lighting Design Awards (MELDA) in Dubai for his work on the Chantal Chamandy’s concert entitled “Chantal Chamandy – Beladi, A Night at The Pyramids with The Cairo Symphony Orchestra”.

This remarkable concert was filmed live on September 7, 2007 and has been produced for television broadcast and for sale as a DVD. The concert is not only a cultural and musical extravaganza, but it also serves to communicate Chantal’s message and goal of ‘peace through culture’. This is the first concert to have ever been filmed at the foot of The Sphinx at The Great Pyramids of Giza.
