Palm Palace Continues Growth Expansion, Opens Third Restaurant in Ann Arbor Acquiring Charlie's LaShish
Palm Palace, LLC, which focuses on the art of Mediterranean cuisine, opened its third restaurant since August, at 2370 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor, as the result of an acquisition of Charlie’s La Shish, an independent restaurant owned by Charlie Bazzi.

Clinton J. Hamet, Palm Palace chief operating officer, announced the new unit, which is the third of 5-8 such restaurants scheduled to open in Metropolitan Detroit. Palm Palace opened its first Restaurant in August 2008 in Clinton Township and another in Auburn Hills in November.
Heading up the new Restaurant will be the Palm Palace Executive Chef Jamil Eid, who has practiced the art of Mediterranean Cuisine for more than five decades. According to Hamet, the new Palm Palace will employ 40 persons and offer jobs for any of the existing staff who elects to stay.
“Chef Eid has spent years perfecting Mediterranean food to meet the palates of Americans including the last 18 years with a now-defunct Middle Eastern chain here in Metro Detroit,” Hamet said. “Chef Eid has mentored many of the Mediterranean chefs in the Metro Detroit area at one time or another. “
According to Hamet, Ann Arbor area consumers will eventually be able to enjoy the Palm Palace Walima Menu, that is “family dining experience.”
The term Walima in the Mediterranean area began as a wedding feast and has morphed into a term for family gatherings and other celebrations. The Palm Palace offers Walima menu entrees to include food for 4-6- persons and 8-10 persons with a sampling of many of Chef Eid’s famous Mediterranean appetizers, soups, salads and entrees he has perfected over the years.
The Ann Arbor Palm Palace will offer seating for 165 persons and will offer both sit-down and carryout service. The Restaurant will be open seven days a week.
