Port Said the Capital of Egyptian Culture in 2020

CAIRO – 10 December 2019: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem and Head of the General Organization of Culture Palaces Ahmed Awwad met with Governor of Port Said Adel al-Ghadban to discuss ways to intensify the creative activities in the governorate.

The meeting tackled the agenda of the cultural and artistic program to celebrate the selection of Port Said Governorate as the capital of Egyptian culture in 2020.

Furthermore, ways to promote cultural activities and enhance the mechanisms of discovering and nurturing talented people from the governorate through the Talent Development Center at the Cultural Palace were discussed.

The meeting also tackled the opening of a permanent outlet for the ministry’s publications, holding activities in Behirat al-Manzala Region and organizing a culture initiative titled “Culture out of the Walls” held at 14 theaters in parks and public gardens .
